Privacy Policy

This privacy policy sets out how Renovators Cookbook ABN 94280212781 and our associated courses, handles your personal information. We think everyone has the right to protect their personal information and we will treat the information you share with us with respect. When we talk about personal information in this policy, we mean information that can identify you, for example your name or your email address.

We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for the purpose of letting you know about our products and services, sharing posts, newsletters or articles with you and answering any requests you may have. You may receive updates from us from time to time.

We do not sell or give away access to the personal information you provide to us.

Staying Anonymous

You can browse our website anonymously (although our cookies will record your IP address and usage). If you identify yourself to us, at that point we will collect your personal information.

Collecting personal information

At all times we try to only collect the information we need to provide our services.

The main way we collect personal information about you is when you give it to us, for example:

  • when you contact us or engage with us
  • when you submit information to our website or other platforms or communications of ours
  • when you ask for access to the information we hold about you

You agree that we may retain any of your personal information indefinitely, although we are not obliged to do so.

Testimonials

If you provide us with a testimonial, you give us your consent for the use of your name, image (if supplied), project photos (if supplied) and the date to be displayed on our website or in our other marketing material, together with the content of the testimonial that you provide. You agree that we may edit your testimonial provided we do not change the intention (sometimes testimonials we receive are very long) and that we may use your testimonial for as long as it remains relevant to our business.

Social Networking Services and links to other websites

We may provide links to other websites or use social networking services such as Facebook to communicate with the public about our business. These sites have their own privacy policies. When you communicate with us using these services, we may collect your personal information. We will only use it to help us to communicate with you and the public. The social networking service will also handle your personal information for its own purposes.

Collecting sensitive information

We do not actively collect sensitive information about you, including information about your health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or criminal history. We will take steps to appropriately protect any sensitive information we do receive.

How we use Cookies and other identifiers

We use a range of tools provided by third parties including search engine browsers and our web hosting company, to collect information about or view website traffic. These sites have their own privacy policies. We also use cookies and session tools to improve your experience when accessing our website.

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. Some website features, for example our videos, may not function properly without cookies.

The information collected by these tools may include the IP address of the device you are using and information about sites that IP address has come from, the pages accessed on our site and the next site visited.

Security and overseas recipients

We rely on third party providers to store the information you have provided to us securely. We do use appropriate password protection for our systems and aim to use reputable service providers however, even when if we opt for data storage within Australia, your data will likely be transferred or mirrored outside of Australia. Different Countries have different rules about personal information protection and by using our website, you consent to the transfer of your personal information in this way.

We aim to secure your data in a manner to protect it from misuse or theft.

Disclosure

The information that we collect about you is used for our business purposes as detailed above. We do not publish your personal information. We may give access to identification data we obtain and transaction records to appropriate and competent advisors or authorities for the purpose of obtaining advice, having services completed for our business (for example IT services) or where we are required to disclose information at law.

Accessing and correcting your personal information

You may request a copy of the information we hold about you, which will only be provided electronically. You may also make a request to amend or correct that information if there are any errors. Generally, we will correct errors and confirm this has been completed within 30 days of your request. This may take longer if your request is complicated however we will keep you up to date. There are times when we are not required to make changes and we will let you know if this applies and keep a copy of your request with our stored information.
